• We've had visitors stay at the various Marriott's nearby and be satisfied (in Los Altos on El Camino just north of San Antonio, or in Mountain View on El Camino just south of Escuela).

• Hotel Avante is very nice and has great weekend rates. Garden Inn, a few buildings down from them is also good, not as nice. There's also Hotel Aria in PA across from Lozano's but on the same side of the street (next to an indian restaurant??). It was surprisingly nice, had a pool and continental breakfast.
• A bit further, but my mother really likes Hotel Avante in Sunnyvale. It's a quick ride since it's right near where 85 meets El Camino. It's both pleasant and professional and has a pool and hot tub outdoors, and I think an exercise room.

• Hotel California on California Avenue is nice. Has a kitchen with fridge - they can cook or store food! Reasonable prices.

• Check out Dinah's Garden Hotel on El Camino in Palo Alto (the hotel attached to Trader Vic's). I had my wedding reception at Trader Vic's and Dinah's and some family stayed at the hotel. They have a variety of rooms (standard to suites) and their prices were quite competitive (even before the wedding discounts). It was almost 10 years ago but worth looking at. I liked it because it is a little more unique than most hotels. It is also very close to ML as it is just past Los Altos Ave.

• I can't vouch for this place but the closest motel to Monta Loma is the Best Western on El Camino at Ortega.
• We've had visitors stay at the various Marriott's nearby and be satisfied (in Los Altos on El Camino just north of San Antonio, or in Mountain View on El Camino just south of Escuela).

• I put my guests on at the Hampton Inn and Suites on Moffet Blvd—very close to our neighborhood.

• Depends on how long they'll be here and what kind of accommodations they want. We stayed at the Residence Inn on El Camino and El Monte when our floors were being done and liked it. Rooms have a kitchen. Rate includes breakfast each morning and dinner a few nights a week.

• I haven't stayed here, but you might try the Crowne Plaza on El Camino north of San Antonio. And of course, there's the Westin and the Sheraton in Palo Alto on El Camino near University. I think there are a couple of B&B's in downtown Palo Alto, too.
