Motorcycle classes:

Added 5-20-11:

I took the motorcycle safety class in Newark. It was a very good class and would highly recommend if for any rider. My wife took the class in Mountain View. Here is the link to their site - you should be able to find a location nearby.

I have been a rider for many years.

You want to check up on the Motorcycle Safety Foundation

I have taken the MSF advanced course and plan to take it again (regular training is a good thing).

Mt. View adult ed offered the course last year, but no longer. Mission College is the closest now, I believe.

The CHP urges all rides to sign up for the California Motorcyclist Safety Program before beginning to ride. This is a basic course for beginning motorcyclists as well as more experienced riders interested in improving their skills. Go to www.ca-msp.org to find the location nearest you.”

I got my M! license last year. I took a course offered by "Two Wheel Safety Training". It was very good and passing completed the physical driving test at DMV. The range where it was taught was a Mission College. There was classroom instruction and physical driving instruction. They furnish the cycle for the instruction but you need to have your own helmet, gloves and shoes (boots) that cover the ankles. The course cost $250. Their main office is in Hayward. I took a class in South San Francisco, and absolutely loved it. I'm a much better rider for it and really enjoyed the tips and practice opportunities. Just google MSC South San Francisco ad you'll find them.
