Out in the boonies, there are very few people who live out here. Most of those who do are either hippies or very conservative. It's off of Hwy 49, borders Yuba County and has part of the Tahoe National Forest in it. The Ridge extends between the south and middle forks of the Yuba River and North San Juan is the largest community. This section also includes the greater Ridge area.
Little Town of Washington
Truckee
The eastern most area of Nevada County. Border Nevada (the state!). Also the highest in elevation in Nevada County that regularly gets lost of snow fall and even has some ski resorts. Truckee is next to the well known tourist trap Tahoe. It borders a few state parks and is home to multiple reservoirs and lakes. Truckee offers a variety of other outdoor opportunities.
