2011 Summer Nights Poster. This Season Summer Nights will be held July 13th, 20th and 27th Summer Nights is a big street festival that is held on Wednesday nights in Nevada City. There are usually from three to four Festivals per summer season that occur usually in July and sometimes into August. During the festival, Nevada City's historic district (Broad Street, Part of Pine and Commercial Streets) is closed off to traffic so that vendors may set up their boothes and pedestrians can browse the local wares. Usually featured are live local musicians, food, arts and crafts and other hand-made products. Dancing has occasionally been known to break out on Pine Street where there tends to be more music.

Summer Nights is free to enter, and as it is a very popular, community event, a $5 parking and shuttle service is provided from the Nevada County Government Center off of Hwy 49 to downtown. Children 12 and under ride for free. Shuttle hours are between 5:30pm and 9:30pm. you may also be able to catch the Gold Country Stage from other areas in Nevada County. If you want to drive your own car, there are a variety of residential areas within walking distance of downtown, where it is legal to park your car for the evening, but be aware as this is a very popular event that parking spots are sparse. But you may get lucky.

Summer Nights is something that should not be missed, whether you're a local, moving into Nevada County or here on a visit. It's a great way to discover some fantastic Local Artists and Local Musicians.
