Bus

  • Gold Country Stage: Western Nevada County's public transportation service. The bus runs a variety of routes throughout Nevada County and Auburn from 7AM-6PM M-F. There is no weekend service. Route 5 offers direct service from Grass Valley to Auburn with stops at the Amtrak and Greyhound stations.
  • Tahoe Area Regional Transit: Bus service for the Truckee and North Lake Tahoe Community. The Truckee Transit route provides rides around the area.

  • Greyhound: National bus company. There is a station in Truckee. Although there is no stop in western Nevada County, it is possible to take the Gold Country Stage to the Auburn Greyhound Station.

Train

  • Amtrak: The California Zephyr route services Truckee. The train station is at 10065 Donner Pass Road. There is no train station in western Nevada County but it is possible to catch the Capitol Corridor train in Auburn at 277 Nevada Street or the California Zephyr in Colfax at 99 Railroad Street at Church Street.
