Silvermine Brook is the name of the brook originating in Carter Swamp, between Clapboard Hill and Comstock Hill, in New Canaan, entering Norwalk northeast of the junction of New Canaan Avenue and Carter Street, flowing through Hams Pond and into the Silvermine River northeast of the junction of Silvermine Avenue and Comstock Hill Avenue, just upstream from Davis Pond.  The name dates back at least as early as 1960. ¹
