Sticky Plain is the historical name of the area of the West Main neighborhood on both sides of Main Street between Union Avenue and New Canaan Avenue. The name dates back at least as early as 1672. ¹West Rocks was also referred to as "Sticky Plain Rocks" as early as 1662.
