5th Annual Maddie's Pet Adoption Days

Oakland Animal Services (OAS) will take part in the fifth annual Maddie's Pet Adoption Days on Saturday, May 31, and Sunday, June 1.
During this nationwide event, sponsored by Maddie's Fund, dog and cat adoptions will be free to qualified homes. This year's event will feature special activities, including face painting, live music, and gift bags. This nationwide event includes hundreds of shelters and helps thousands of animals find their loving, forever home each year. In addition, each successful adoption will earn the shelter a generous donation from Maddie's Fund, a family foundation working to achieve a no-kill nation by providing solutions to the most challenging issues
facing the animal welfare community through its grant giving, hands-on animal care, and research and education.
The money earned during this event is essential to the OAS operating budget for the almost 7,000
animals that the shelter cares for each year.
