A.H. Rose and Company was a contracting business run by Aug H. Rose.
c.1909-1910, the company was at 906 Broadway (the Blake and Moffitt Block). From 1911 to 1916, they were at 539-545 - 17th St. in a small building behind the Stock Brothers Seattle Bar on San Pablo Avenue. A 1912 photo shows a sign for Gray & Potter Painting - Tinting and Papering. In 1917, they moved a few doors down to 525 - 17th St.
A 1919 ad also lists E.L. Lehan & Co. - Painting, Tinting, and Paperhanging at 525 - 17th St.

In 1924, A.H. Rose struck and killed Lynn Trappman while driving near 21st and Telegraph. Witnesses said Rose was driving at a reasonable speed, and the boy stepped out from behind a car parked at the curb. Rose applied the brakes, but Lynn was struck. Rose took him to Providence Hospital, but the boy died. Rose was not arrested. 1
