The AB&I Foundry is a metal foundry on San Leandro Street that manufactures cast iron soil pipe and fittings for plumbing systems. The company has been around since 1906 and employs approximately 300 team members. Today’s AB&I is a thoroughly modern, technology-driven foundry committed to environmentally responsible manufacturing and team member safety. AB&I is an environmentally conscience U.S. manufacturer that has invested millions of dollars in environmental programs involving clean air, land and water. AB&I’s water treatment system is just one example in that every drop of rain water that hits the roof is captured and run through a filltration process and then recycled. AB&I strives to be good stewards of the environment for future generations.
The outer wall of the foundry features a large, patriotically-themed mural.
