AB-933 Distilled spirits manufacturers: licenses: tastings.

Assembly Bill 933 was passed in September, 2013 and goes into effect in January 2014. The law allows distilleries to charge for tastings like wineries and breweries currently can.

Distilleries can charge customers for a tasting and limits tastes to six per person. The tastings must be "straight," as opposed to in cocktails or mixed drinks. Bottles of the product still can't sell bottles on site.

The bill was sponsored by Assemblyman Rob Bonta and Assemblywoman Nancy Skinner.
