Bayview Glass and Mirror was a retail business at 4006 MacArthur from 1960 to c.1975.
It is likely the source of a ghost sign that is visible as of April 2025. Not much is known about the business. The first reference found is in 1960 (listed as Bayview Glass Company), as part of an ad for Fuller Mirrors. Until1959, 4006 had been Uncle Al's TV.
One name associated with the business was Elvin Schoner, who is listed with the business in the 1969 directory. The 1975 directory lists the business, but not Elvin's name, though his residential listing appears.
Building
According to Zillow, et al, the building was constructed in 1929.
The building houses both 4006 and 4008, and was most recently home to Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken. Prior to that, it was Laurel Cafe.
4008 MacArthur has its own ghost sign, but as yet, no business corresponding to it has been found.
