Bonanza is two stores about a block away from each other on International and 36th in Fruitvale (right by the Fruitvale BART). One store (at 3617 International) is a good, cheap hardware store and the other one (at 3545 International) is a good, cheap camping/outdoors/military/construction store.

They are owned by the same person (Helen Slape) who is usually at one of the stores. She says that the stores have been here for 50 years!

They're both open 9AM-5:30PM every day except Sunday.

FYI, the hardware Bonanza doesn't cut keys, but Modern Shoe Repair across the street at 3602 International does.

The gardening supplies at the hardware store are much cheaper than at local Ace stores and nurseries. The quality reflects the price, so there's a definite tradeoff there.

Also, there's a nice mural on the side of the hardware store.

While you're shopping, you can go to National across the street - it's a cheap clothing/department store.
