Brenda Roberts was elected city auditor in November, 2014. She was one of two candidates for City Auditor in 2014, running against Len Raphael. The incumbent, Courtney Ruby, ran for Mayor and did not file for re-election as auditor.

2014 Auditor Election

Roberts filed for the city auditor 2014 race in June 2014, noting partisan affiliation of Democrat. Her website (http://brendarobertsforauditor.com/) says:

"As Auditor I’ll protect Oakland’s taxpayers from waste, fraud and mismanagement by ensuring responsible, transparent financial practices. I’ll be a Watchdog for you in responding to citizen complaints while also working proactively to increase City Hall efficiency."
