Founded in 2003, the Community Food and Justice Coalition is a non-profit that works to unite the food justice movement in California with the goal of working towards a healthy, community-controlled, and sustainable food system.

Their activities include advocacy for change at the state and national level, events to develop community leaders in food justice, a food justice summit, an Urban Farmer Field School, and lots of other events to educate and empower people about food issues. They also created a cookbook and the full text of it is online.

They are fiscally sponsored by the Public Health Institute.
