The garden in April of 2015

Curtis Street Farm is a community garden in West Oakland.  It was once a productive vegetable garden, but the former caretakers left and in early 2015 it was not being used.

In April 2015, some neighbors began to farm there.

On May 1st, 2015 it became was the first farm in Oakland Spring Rising's initiative to create 40 farms in 40 days.

Help keep Curtis Street Farm thriving!  

There will be volunteer days on Wednesdays and Sundays throughout the spring.  Be sure to contact the organizers to let them know you are coming!  You can contact the organizers at [email protected].

Here is the current wishlist for Curtis Street Farm:

  •  Mulch
  • Starts! 
  • Soil testing! (donate here to help this and other Oakland farms get tested)

Also, we are looking for help from people with the following skills:

  • pruning palm trees (plus a really tall ladder!)
