D. Franklin Oliver was an architect who designed the original Tribune Building which was built in 1906. The iconic Tribune Tower was added later.
In 1909/1910 San Francisco architect D. Franklin Oliver filed a lawsuit against the Realty Syndicate of Oakland for their failure to pay him the 3-1/2% owed for plans and specifications drawn up for a 10 story building.
