Day On The Green was the name for a series of amazing rock concerts held at the Oakland Coliseum Stadium, which were masterminded by legendary rock promoter Bill Graham.  The concerts were huge, sold out all day events featuring headliners of the era, along with lesser known bands.  The series of concerts ran from the 1970's into the early 1990's.

After Bill Graham died in 1991, his company, Bill Graham Presents ceased sponsoring the series, with the last show being held in 1992.

The first Day On The Green took place on August 5, 1973.  Leon Russell, Loggins and Messina, Elvin Bishop and Merry Clayton performed.

In 1974 there were two concert dates: June 8, 1974 with the Grateful Dead, the Beach Boys, New Riders of the Purple Sage, and Commander Cody.  The second concert dates were July 13 and 14, 1974: Crosby, Stills Nash & Young, the Band, Joe Walsh, Jesse Colin Young.
