This Mexican restaurant is part of the confusing network of Zamorano-named taco trucks and restaurants which proliferate in this area of East Oakland. While the various Zamorano businesses are ostensibly independently owned, all are connected to the extended family of Oakland taco pioneer Primitivo Guzman, who parked Oakland's first taco truck on the corner of High and (then) East 14th Street in 1982.1
El Taco Zamorano Restaurant has good food, an interesting mural, and is located across the street from the Hell's Angels clubhouse, which can make for good people-watching.
