Oakland continues to suffer from a foreclosure crisis.
"Some 10,508 homes were foreclosed between 2007 and 2012, with poor, black families bearing the brunt. This created a "colossal opportunity" for wealthy individuals and corporations to snap up real estate, said the report." from an article in The Guardian, referring to the Who Owns Your Neighborhood report created by Urban Strategies Council.
