Free Montgomery is an organization that seems to be a collective of artists doing good things, by using Inter-AcTive Art to bring aid and attention to the homeless. Free Montgomery's Founder Randy Brooks born in Oakland Ca. was homeless for some years here in the states, and two years in Montreal Canada. The name comes from a art piece that he created that was originally name "Mr. Montgomery", and then he changed it to "Free Montgomery" because of his experience with "Free Huey" and Free Angela" cries from the late 60's that he grew up with during the civil rights movement of that time. Randy also lived in Montgomery Alabama for two years were, (" Mr. Montgomery was created) and a good part of that time he was homeless. The experience of living in the deep south for him was life changing.
