Fresh and Best 2 is a cafe that does both coffee and Vietnamese food. Located in the Malonga Casquelourd Center for the Arts building on Alice St. in the Lakeside neighborhood, it's easy to miss it as its on a residential street. But for all who seek veggie/vegan banh mi's in downtown Oakland, you will be richly rewarded if you order the lemongrass bean curd sandwich (to make it vegan, ask for no mayo). The new curry bean curd sandwich is also really good. They also have excellent juices that they make on the spot.
Although this spot isn't always buzzing with activity, it's a popular place to get a drink or snack for people who take classes or otherwise patronize Malonga Casquelourd Center for the Arts.
