Outside this station on Tuesdays and Thursdays there are lots of vendor stalls selling fresh produce, music, handicrafts, and there is even a tiny little taco truck where you can get tacos and burritos. Hay jugo de naranja y zanahoria tambien. It can help to know a little Spanish. Or Chinese.
bikes
As with any BART station, bike theft is rampant. There is no inside bicycle parking here, only an outside area near the AC Transit stops on E 12th. If you park your bike here, you should maintain line-of-sight. It would be a really bad idea to park your bike here and then hop on a train.
