In 2008 volunteers from the Regeneration Church (who owns the lease on the property) sledgehammered up the concrete behind the community center at 219 E. 15th St., Oakland, CA, 94606, and now a beautiful garden grows there! Community members with and without church affiliation volunteer time to water, weed, harvest, and maintain a compost in this peaceful spot near Lake Merritt.
