The Influenza Plot in Oakland's Mountain View Cemetery is the final resting place for many of the local victims of the Spanish Influenza pandemic, which lasted globally from January 1918 to December 1920. In Oakland the vast majority of influenza cases were seen from September 1918 on into the summer of 1919, with some individuals lingering for months before succumbing to the disease. The triangular shaped burial plot is located "north of the Tower Chapel and outdoor garden mausoleum." 1
