Once the home of poet Joaquin Miller (1837–1913), “The Abbey” is located at 3300 Joaquin Miller Road in Joaquin Miller Park in the Oakland Hills. The small house is a three-part frame building, with gable roof on two of the rooms, in a gothic revival style.
Purchased by the City of Oakland in 1919, The Abbey was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1962; became California Historical Landmark #107 on ___; was listed on the National Register of Historic Places #66000204 on October 15, 1966; and on January 7, 1975 the home was designated an Oakland Landmark, under Zoning Case #LM 74-335.
