Dr. John Sarkis Najarian, M.D. (born December 22, 1927) is a noted transplant surgeon from Oakland. He and his brother George were both athletes. (George graduated from Oakland High School, so likely John did, too.) He went on to UC Berkeley, and played sports (not sure which) with Jackie Jensen.

Najarian went into medicine instead of continuing with sports, and attended UCSF where he got his M.D. in 1952 and completed his surgical training in 1960. Now he is chair of the surgery department at the University of Minnesota. Najarian's son Pete Najarian played in the NFL.
