Luka's Taproom & Lounge had delicious food, strong drinks and a wide variety of cold beer in a fun atmosphere. What more could you ask for?

Luka's was open from 2004 until 2022, when a dispute with landlord led to them closing. The bar was often credited with helping revitalize the uptown area. 1

In May 2022, Urbana Oakland applied to open a cannabis dispensary and consumption lounge at the location. 2

The owner of Luka's spoke at City Council against some popular (among certain constituency) things like closing Latham Square to traffic and First Fridays.

Building History

Before Luka's, the building was The Cigar Box (which also had a soda fountain) sometime after 1932, then was the Hofbrau restaurant from the early 1950s to 2003. Luka's opened in 2004.
