Mario Juarez was born in Central America in Honduras. He immigrated to Oakland in 1990 when he was 12 years old and was raised in the Fruitvale District as a teenager. He is a well known real estate agent based out of the Fruitvale District. He still a resident of his hometown.
Mario Juarez ran for City Council for District 5 in 2008 against incumbent Ignacio De La Fuente. The windows in the office on International Blvd were busted during that election. He lost the election but had about a 40 percent vote count.
He ran again in 2012 Election for City Council in District 5 and lost the election to Noel Gallo.
In Oakland's 2022 general election, Mario Juarez funded a political action committee (PAC) to create support of Sheng Thao's election campaign using image obtained from the website of the San Francisco Chronicle that depicted a darken candidate Loren Taylor's skin and squinting his eyes.
He survived two attempt of murders attacked in 2024.
