1Normandie Place is a small group of homes located in Highland Terrace.   The tract located at 19th Avenue and East 23rd Avenue was formally the Cahen Home. ((need to check this out))The unique home group was designed by Helen W, Jackson (Mrs. Robert D). Fred T Wood was the listing agent. 

Normandie Place consists of ten, five room cottages and range in price from $5750 to $7000.1

First Five Homes being built Oakland Tribune Dec 1925

The homes were designed similar to that of a chateau in old Normandy with the conveniences of modern housekeeping.  

"Beamed and gabled ceilings, large French windows and doors, wrought iron hardware and fixtures, decorative corbels and plaques in the walls and ceilings, multi-colored roofs, bird pools moss entwined flagstones, trees, and shrubbery satisfy the aesthetic taste; while complete conveniences throughout the kitchens, baths, bedrooms dining rooms and living room" Oakland Tribune Dec 1925

In December of 1925, they held a  "Pre-opening of Normandie Place" with a display home at 1845 19th Avenue.
