Lou Bittner and team, including Don Barksdale (2nd from right) 1The Oakland Bittners were an Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball team in the 1940s, coached by Lou Bittner. Notable players included Don Barksdale and Jim Pollard.
In 1947 they lost to the Phillips 66ers (from Bartlesville, Oklahoma) 62-41 in the AAU championship game in Denver. In 1949 they beat Phillips 66ers, 55-51 in the championship game.
