The Oakland Ice Center Operated By Sharks Ice is located in downtown Oakland amidst the City's vibrant Uptown District. The rink has public skating hours every day (check their schedule for the current times). Skating sessions are quite affordable at $14 or less for admission and skate rental.
The rink offers classes in skating, hockey and speedskating, as well as hockey leagues for children and adults. The Bay Area Curling Club gives curling lessons and fields leagues that play there. Pick up hockey and freestyle sessions are also available.

The ice center opened in May, 1996. The owners immediately had problems making payments on the $11 million loan from the city. 1
