SPOKES first operated in Oakland from May 9th 2013 until June 18th 2013 on a Popup Lease in partnership with *Popuphood Oakland And CAC REAL ESTATE MANAGEMENT CO., INC.
SPOKES is developing a small business incubator called SPOKES pop up Bike SHOP. Our Pop -up shop model is taking off.
Based on two other successfull Bike shops; Richmond Spokes.org and Oakland spokes.org,
we wish to assemble and deploy Pop up shops in our urban neighborhoods starting in the Bay Area and Expanding to out other SPOKES cities DC, Atlanta, Brooklyn, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, and Detroit.
Oakland Spokes Community Bike Lounge is partnering with the Family Bike Collective to bring you a new Bike Lounge in/near Downtown Oakland.
Our new lease gave us sure footing in Oakland and new legitimacy as Oakland SPOKES Bike Shop (DBA SPOKES Bike Lounge). We will be offering a full service boutique bike shop with nearly 1000 sales items in our little shop. Over the course of the fall and winter we will be increasing our selection of accessories and parts to better serve the local commuters, residents and families who pass our shop every day. We hold workshops and have demo days where you can test ride many of our products and try out cargo and family biking attachments trailers and bikes.
Our impact and presence in the neighborhood brings together and elicits respect and a unique loyalty with our new and old customers. The new space will continue to feature the bike lounge experience coupled with expert service commuter accessories and great atmosphere.
Our Commitment to highlight the impact of Community Bike Organizations (CBO)’s will continue with our involvement in bike cultured events, advocacy and economy as we grow in our network of CSOs.
We will have special features of an online pre order web store where community members can enjoy extra savings by pre ordering in store only specials. Check out our Weekly Happy Hour Clearance sales. Join us for Bike related community celebrations and after hours events.
