Oscar's Alley is a pathway and stairway between El Dorado Avenue and Harrison Street, and continuing between Harrison Street and Oakland Avenue.
It is unknown why it is called Oscar's Alley. It is called that in a 2006 City of Oakland memo which includes a stairway inventory. 1 Various suggestions have included the Sesame Street character Oscar the Grouch or a local cat named Oscar, but no documentation about either has been found.
