The Signature Development Group (SDG) is a real estate developer behind some major development happening right now in Oakland.

Development projects

Brooklyn Basin (formerly known as Oak to Ninth)

They are working in partnership with China-based developer Zarsion Holdings Group on the Brooklyn Basin, a mega development project on both sides of (but excluding) the Fifth Avenue Marina. This is the largest development Oakland has seen in half a century!

The potential for a new baseball stadium at the Howard Terminal will have no effect on the Brooklyn Basin development, and conversely would not be affected by the development. At the closest point, the two sites are 1.2 miles apart, with Jack London Square and other development between  the sites. The nearby Victory Court site is dead without redevelopment money1

The Hive (Uptown)

They are also currently developing The Hive, located on one city block on Broadway between 23rd and 24th St. in the Uptown neighborhood. They have already signed leases with the following companies for space in the Hive: HUB Oakland, NUMI Tea, Drake’s Brewery, a restaurant run by Chris Pastena (who also runs Chop Bar & Tribune Tavern), and Balfour Beatty Construction.
