Terraza Palmera at St. Joseph's will be 62 affordable one, two and three bedroom apartments for low income families, which is part of the second phase of the St. Joseph's Senor Apartments development by BRIDGE Housing. The architect for Terraza Palmera is Van Meter Williams Pollack, and James E. Roberts-Obayashi Corporation is the General Contractor.
On March 13, 2012 the Grand Opening for the St. Joseph's Senior Apartments at 2647 International Boulevard was held at the same time as the celebration of the groundbreaking for the adjacent Terraza Palmera family apartments.
The financial partners in this venture are as follows: City of Oakland; Redevelopment Agency of the City of Oakland; Union Bank; U.S. Bank; California Department of Housing and Community Development; Oakland Housing Authority; Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco Affordable Housing Program; Evelyn and Walter Haas, Jr. Fund; and the Northern California Community Loan Fund/Lower San Antonio Community Development Fund.
Since the property is still under construction, the rental applications are not currently available, but interested persons can contact BRIDGE Housing at 510.464.5999 to ask for notification when the rental applications become available, or fill out and submit the online Living At Terraza Palmera at St. Joseph's form.
Adults residents of all BRIDGE Housing developments are eligible for the Alan and Ruth Stein Educational Assistance Program scholarship, which has awarded 114 Stein Program grants to individuals of diverse ages, ethnicities, and cultural backgrounds. 2
