The Thayer Building was a 5-story office building on the southeast corner of Jefferson at 577 - 14th St., constructed in 1908-1909. 2
The building was designed in 1907 by McCall and Wythe. It was built of brick, and had a mansard roof. The original design called for a 4-story building, but the rapid growth of Oakland encouraged the owner to build it 5 stories tall. 1
