The Food Mill

Dating back to 1933, The Food Mill is Oakland 's original health food store. Since 1993, the Watkins Family have owned and operated the Dimond District store. The Food Mill is dedicated to helping customers make better decisions about their health and well-being, while providing the finest quality food and supplements available anywhere. The store features organic foods and the areas largest selection of bulk foods, vitamins and supplements. The Food Mill has also been known for its delicious home-made baked goods and nut butters.
On July 13, 2013, the Food Mill celebrated their 80th anniversary. The event featured free samples, food, drinks, massages and face painting.
In 2014, the Food Mill was a recipient of the stewardship award from the Oakland Heritage Alliance.
