Thomas Haag is a muralist who has done a lot of work in Oakland including work on the mural in the Fruitvale BART parking lot and a couple of murals on Piedmont Avenue. He is a member of the Groundscore Collective. He has also painted a lot of murals in Barcelona and Albuquerque.
Haag was born in Kansas and now lives in Oakland. He says that "when he's had to work, he's been a commercial diver, propman, art director, low-volume smuggler, curator and gallery owner. he also once worked for eleven days in a dog food factory where they made kibbles'n bits, but he prefers to paint."
His murals have a distinct look: they are often animals made up of geometric shapes, primarily rectangles.
