Urban Promise Academy is a 6-8grade middle school on the site of the former Hawthorne Elementary (external link). The school is located in the Hawthorne neighborhood and is run by very dedicated educators. Over 50% of students opt to stay for after school programming which includes academic programming and other activities. You might recognize the school by the mural on the Fruitvale side.
