William Walter was born in New York and came to California in 1852.2 Lived at 606 14th St. Partner in Shakespear & Walter, wholesale dealers of wood and coal, a business at 413-421 Eleventh Street.1 He may also have had dealings with the Wells Fargo Express Company. Walter was a Mason.
Walter is buried at Mountain View Cemetery.4
