William Arthur Newman (May 14, 1878 – January 24, 1953) was an architect. He designed a number of notable buildings in Oakland, including the Civic Center Post Office, as well as a number of homes and apartment buildings.

He was the supervising architect of federal buildings on the Pacific coast for some years, so was involved in the design and construction of a number of federal buildings around the west.

Newman lived in Oakland and Berkeley with his wife Carrie.
