The society of Oakland Pioneers was an organization active in the 1920s, open to anyone who lived in Oakland for fifty years. "The serious object of the society is stated to be to collect and preserve information relating to early settlers and the history of the city of Oakland."1 In the early 1920s the Oakland Tribune printed an article called "Ye Olden Oakland Days", with material contributed by the Oakland Pioneers. (Note, contrary to popular usage, "ye" is pronounced "the".) The articles appeared in Sunday editions of the Tribune.

The articles can be hard to find, because modern optical character recognition does not recognize the hand-drawn header.

Clippings of the known instances of Ye Olden Oakland Days

If you find any that are missing, please contribute them here. They can be hard to find. They did not always occur in the same section of the paper, and are not present in some Sunday editions.

Ye Olden Oakland Days - 7/17/1921 Note the five week gap. It doesn't appear any were missed, but correct me if I'm wrong. There's no title for this one, but a summary could be; a boy's memories of Oakland. It's also not attributed, but I believe this fits in the AMONG THE BOYS IN EARLY DAYS series by Robert T. Donovan, and it has the same voice.
