Mandela Foods Cooperative is a locally-owned and operated full-service grocery store and nutrition education center located in West Oakland, a community long underserved in grocery retail. It is a worker cooperative and sells lots of food from local farms and local food producers (such as House Kombucha, Oakland Chocolate Company, and Besto Pesto).
It is located at 1430 Seventh St., right across the street from West Oakland BART. Its hours are Mon-Fri: 7am-8pm, Sat-Sun: 10am-4pm and you can contact them at 510-452-1133.
The cooperative was founded in 2009.
