Opened by Giovanni Ratto in 1897, Ratto's Market and Deli is one of the oldest delicatessens in Oakland. The original location of the store was at 6th Street and Washington Street, which was later moved to 9th and Washington Streets.

It's now in the building that was originally constructed for the Winsor Hotel.
