History

The first Express Lane store was opened on May 24, 1984 at 14666 Front Beach Road by James E. Lewis, Jr., president of Sunshine-Jr. Stores, Inc. from 1968 until 1984. Some of Express Lane's locations are former Jr. Food Stores locations.

Every Express Lane store has gasoline except for Store #1. Some larger Express Lane stores have Subway or other leased restaurants within them.

As of 2020, there are over thirty locations scattered around Northwest Florida.
