Go Box is a reusable container program in downtown Portland. The idea is that you pay a subscription fee of $18/year. Then you get a plastic token, which can be given to participating food vendors, and then you get a green-in-color box. There are drop-off sites scattered throughout downtown. The boxes are picked up & delivered by bicycle.
Since it's illegal for food companies to put food into your empty tupperware, some of them won't. Go Box is the alternative that allows food vendors to offer a legally-known-to-be-clean reusable container.

I am a huge fan of all the civilly-disobedient businesses around town who are happy to accept and fill your own container. -Angel.York
