There are several old and/or abandoned public streets in Pittsburgh.

  • (Squirrel Hill) Pocusset Drive: These streets in Schenley Park were closed to motor vehicles and made into trails. One segment, from Greenfield Road to Pocusset Street, was sliding down the hillside, and was closed to motor vehicles, had lighting added, and was repaved and marked as an asphalt trail. The second segment, from Pocusset Street to Prospect Drive, was an old, abandoned, closed-off road, and was reopened as a trail around the same timeframe as the first segment. See here, here and here.
  • (Westwood) Kearns Avenue: Part of this street is not in good shape, and is closed to motor vehicles.
  • (Arlington/St. Clair) Parkwood Road: Part of this street was also not in good shape, and is closed to motor vehicles. See here.
  • (Allentown/Mt. Washington) William Street: A section of this street, from near Arlington Avenue to Cola Street, was closed due to landslides eroding the roadway. See herehere and here.
