"Philomath High graduate Daniel Hinchberger, a senior at Lander University in Greenwood, S.C., is slated to be one of the Bearcats top-three pitchers this baseball season. He is expected to be a weekend starter for Lander, meaning he will throw primarily in Peach Belt Conference games. Hinchberger led the team in wins and starts in 2007, going 8-5 in 14 starts with a 3.60 ERA. He struck out 85 in 85 innings, walked 51 and held opponents to a .238 batting average."
