James Rufus Eudaly was born in 1846 in Tennessee. He had arrived in Powhatan by 1877 when he married Martha Ruby.
J. Rufus Eudaly operated a hotel and grocery store in Powhatan. His wife was Martha Eudaly.
Court Cases
In 1878, he was the defendant in a case against James W. Coffman, as administrator of Lewis K Coffman's estate. Coffman stated that Eudaly owed money for use of a property. Eudaly denied the debt.
In 1880, he sued the railroad for damaging a carload of watermelons to be delivered to Springfield MO for damages of 250 dollars.
